I may have a definition problem, but wouldn't that be wallpaper packs?
A theme is a change in the graphic aspect of windows for me and not a simple color and wallpapers.
I mean, it doesn't change the fact that I like photos of India and Asia.
Under Windows a theme is a set of screen font + icons + sounds and cursors and that since Windows 98, the themes as you hear are not planned by Microsoft so they took the theme name for these packs otherwise the themes window the term that suits it is a “skin” or “visual style” so theme corresponds enough because in addition theme corresponds to a generality of things.

Thanks for your clarification... it must be the habit of gnome that made me lose the thread this aspect of windows.
still not at the ankle of a linux when it comes to customisation
@all : GNOME allows to do a lot of things in fact, but it should be noted that Seven reintroduces themes like “Windows” when they almost disappeared under Vista.
The themepack file format is very easy to use, a single double-click is enough. No need to break the head to dispatch the various elements (wallpaper, sound, sliders, etc.) in the appropriate folders.

Ah ouai, it’s like metacity/GTK themes in tar.gz under Gnome...
@Ghandi : you're absolutely right but I was referring to some themes that need to manually move specific content in different folders (screens on one side, icons on the other, etc.).
