If you are using Windows Media Center to watch TV, why not tell it to immediately open live TV, without displaying the opening animation or menus?
Start by right-clicking the shortcut of Windows Media Center (the one you commonly use: Shortcut on Desktop, Task Bar, Start Menu...) and opt to Properties.
On the tab Shortcut, in Target, the following value is visible:
%windir%\EHOME\ehshell.exe
Position your cursor after it, press Space and paste this line of code, including quotation marks:
“/mcesuperbar://tv?live=true”
Click on OK.
Run Windows Media Center from the shortcut you just modified to admire the result.
Note that you need to repeat this operation for all your shortcuts.
A reduced click gain, and an improved user experience!
great!
Since the time I've been doing it!
Great trick!
Do you know how to place a link on the spot bar in order to directly activate a string (or others)?
Thank you
PS: under Win 7
A priori can't. But if I find it I'll publish it of course
