If you have encountered a problem when creating an email profile in Outlook then you may not be able to properly launch the software. To fix this problem, we need to remove the bugged profile via a rather hidden option from Windows.
This tutorial follows a problem encountered during the first launch of Outlook 2010. For info, this launch is accompanied by an email account creation wizard that will match your default profile.
However, if you indicate incorrect information like a wrong port number for your IMAP account and cancel the wizard, then you will not be able to create a new profile.
After hours of research, I realised that it wasn't directly dependent on Outlook... but on the module Mail present in the Control Panel.
By opening it, you will be able to select the profile in question and click on Remove.
Similarly, this is where you can set a default profile or if you need to do it every time.
To confirm, click on OK.
This mail profile management module exists since the creation of Outlook... already on Windows 98 it was present! Like that, everything is not completely reviewed — surely for compatibility purposes.
